Last month meeting one of my old Aunty after years was
a delightful moment for me…I am just
like her daughter and reversal.I met her and her family after 12 years… she
had seen me growing up …. Her daughters are now young females aged 18 and 21.
Aunty has been a dedicated housewife with loads of warmth
for her loved ones and a perfect example of a caring sweet mother. Life thrashed
her at the age of 28, She lost her husband and was left all alone with just 2 daughters
aged 4 and 7...then. .She brought them up all alone with too much of struggle
which even makes me respect her more.
Not highly educated and aware about the world she still
tries to cope up with the expectation of young generation … I was delighted to
see her using face book that day…which according to her she was taught by her
own daughters.
She shared with me how she has found her school friends after years.
How keeping in touch with relatives, her family cousins … and all…was so easy …She
was still a teenager at heart.. Since I am much older then her daughters she
has always shared her thoughts with me ….sharing her exciting face book experience
(obviously which was an excitement for
her at that age…. not for me) she also shared with me that during one of
the days on face book she received a friend request from her teenage time crush… (I am sure crush in her time must not be
more then admiring a cool guy casually that too from far a distance..lol..)
I could notice a blush on her cheeks while sharing …I even knew the reason …its
just because 22 years back she used like this guy whose photo is in front of
her computer screen! which made me smile even broader .I was quiet happy to see
the twinkle in her eyes. Like a young girl she quickly …. typed his name on the
screen to show me how he looks now and wanted me to suggest if it would be right to except his friend request
….
(again that’s a normal thing for us
and we would definitely click accept to get in touch with our old time friend..
no matter what gender similar or opposite…. But for aunty it was a big thing..
in virtual world also she was too much well aware of her boundaries…)
The
picture could not even open and we heard one of her daughter calling out …,"Didi, Maa bahut face book karti hai aajkal… maine kahan yeh virtual world hai….usse
se door he rehna..kisis ko bhi apna dost mat bana lena…"
Aunty got instantly embarrassed and logged out of her account and
diverted me to some other topic…
It is like you sitting in a your own made hut but restricting others to even pick up the straw without knowing their actual intention!!
Who gave rights to this young generation to be doubtful about their own parents when they wish no boundaries for themselves to
mingle up with the outer world in whichever way they want?
Why this restriction
and insecurity ??
Young Generation : A group which is conveniently ethical and non ethical.
How Bizarre!! Goodluck- God bless- J
